MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE: 'I Loved Prison'

January 5, 2006

ContactMusic.com is reporting that MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee loved the four months he spent in prison on assault charges in 1998, because he found a peace and quiet he has never achieved in the outside world.

Lee was jailed for assaulting his then wife Pamela Anderson and served four months of a three year sentence at Los Angeles County Jail.

He says, "I loved prison. I thought, 'No one can f**k with me. I'm not going to have to do interviews. I'm not going to have to answer the phone.'

"Just total peace and quiet. I was, like, 'Fuck, this is nice!' People looked at me like I was on crack."

As previously reported, Image Entertainment will be issuing Lee's reality TV show, "Tommy Lee Goes to College", on a single-disc DVD on April 25, according to TVShowsOnDVD.com. Video is full screen and audio is English 2.0 Stereo. Image Entertainment is pricing this item at $19.99 SRP in the USA and CA$23.99 SRP in Canada. Check out the cover art at this location.

"Tommy Lee Goes to College" premiered on August 16, 2005 with two back-to-back episodes on NBC. The six-episode show follows Lee's studies and extracurricular activities at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, such as finding a roommate, trying out for the marching band and cramming for finals. Lee is also one of the producers of the series.
